Our people and production
Our production staff are permanent full time employees thus ensuring the quality of our products at all the times. On average we manufacture (including completed packaging) approximately 2500 packets of noodles daily. Our daily productions include a variety of products as per our customer demands and stock control.
 
Local Business wins Smart State grant
Local Business wins Smart State grant Hong Le Noodle, a local Moorooka company, has been awarded a $5000 business development grant.

The state government is committed to supporting local businesses and providing them with support to grow and Simon was pleased to announce the awarding of the grant.

Noodle maker uses makes use of Smart State grant

A Moorooka noodle company’s products may soon grace the shelves of major Queensland supermarkets after being awarded a $5,000 Queensland Industry Development Scheme (QIDS) grant.

Member for Yeeronpilly Simon Finn said Hong Le Noodle, which makes noodles for restaurants, wholesalers and speciality stores throughout Queensland, will have the chance to expand significantly thanks to the grant.

“Hong Le Noodle, a second generation family business, has noticed the rise of noodle consumption in Queensland from the influence of Asian migration, business and leisure travel to Asia, and demand for tasty, healthy food.”

“The Brisbane company will use the funding to gain ISO22000 quality assurance certification – the highest stamp of approval for Queensland suppliers – recognised in all the state’s supermarket chains, including Coles and Woolworths. “Recognition as a safe and quality supplier means the business can continue to grow as a world-class noodle manufacturer and become a major competitor to its imported counterparts” Mr Finn said.

Hong Le Noodle owner David Cheng said the certification will also allow the company to further develop the quality, packaging and shelf life of its noodle product and to establish itself as a supplier of fresh, preservative-free goods.

“The State Government is helping our business, which we started in 1983, to achieve our dream of breaking into the fresh supermarket food market. “

We expect the certification to help us increase turnover by at least 30 per cent over three years, leading to $1M in sales.

Mr Cheng said down the track Hong Le Noodle plans to tap into the growing demand for quick and easy meal solutions by developing a value-added product, combining noodles and sauces, where you just add vegetables, meat or seafood.

Mr Finn said the flourishing industry is worthy of such dedication with latest State Government figures estimating the $144 million noodle market is growing by 12 per cent each year.

Hong Le Noodle is among 367 Brisbane businesses to share more than $10.2 million in QIDS grants since 1998.
